What do the file extensions RPM & ASP stand for and what do they mean?

I think it has somthing to with Real Player. I know somehow RPM files can connect to ASP files and real player plays the music.





Can anyone explain this to me?

RPM was developed on the basis of the Linux Standard Base (LSB). In latter-day usage, the "RPM" portion of this term arises from the fact that .rpm is the default extension for files used by the program.
