What do the file extensions RPM & ASP stand for and what do they mean?

I think it has somthing to with Real Player. I know somehow RPM files can connect to ASP files and real player plays the music.

Can anyone explain this to me?

What do the file extensions RPM %26amp; ASP stand for and what do they mean?
ASP stands for Active Server Page. It also stands for application service provider.

Also RPM is a Package Manager originally called the Red-hat Package Manager, is a program for installing, uninstalling, and managing software packages in Linux. RPM was developed on the basis of the Linux Standard Base (LSB). In latter-day usage, the "RPM" portion of this term arises from the fact that .rpm is the default extension for files used by the program.

Here is a website that I pulled this information from.
